Les Thermes – Intervention by Halory Goerger
Les Thermes is a large wooden pool with 25,000 plastic balls that invites you to take a moral bath in Stoic philosophy. You can either enjoy a free swim in the pool or visit one of the interventions in which various guests apply Stoic principles to the themes of the festival and provide further food for thought and discussion.
Halory Goerger creates shows and installations instead of building houses or repairing animals because it’s better like that for everyone. He works on the history of ideas, because everything else was already taken by the time he came along. Born in 1978, lives in Lille (France). He co-founded Amicale de production, which he co-directed until 2016. He is now developing his projects in his company, Bravo Zoulou. Author, dramaturgist, librettist and performer.
He shot fake commercials for contemporary dance, Bonjour concert (2007). Wrote &&&&& & &&& (2008), Germinal (2012) with A. Defoort, and Corps Diplomatique (2016), pieces that toured extensively. In 2012, with collective «France Distraction», conceived a series of installations, notably Les Thermes. He wrote a circus piece, Il est trop tôt pour un titre (Sujet à Vif Avignon 2016). Four For (2018) was his first attempt at musical theater. In 2021 he wrote and directed an opera, Au coeur de l'océan (composers F.Blondy & A. Lavandier / Le Balcon / Opera de Lille). His next piece Work Songs will premiere in Philharmonie de Luxembourg in 2023.
